About The Position
The Tugger is responsible for basic cleaning and warehouse sanitation, with primary duties focused on baling cardboard, breaking down cardboard for recycling, and collecting trash throughout the warehouse. The employee collects garbage bins from the warehouse floor, empties them, and returns them. The role also includes restroom cleaning and restocking, floor and glass cleaning, furniture movement, and responding to incidental spills or flooded areas. The employee must maintain clean, orderly work areas and equipment and follow prescribed safety regulations and company, state, and federal policies. The role can be labor intensive and requires heavy lifting and physical fitness. The employee must be willing to work assigned hours; the schedule varies.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- At least 1 year of experience.
- Strong communication skills.
- Must be willing to work assigned hours.
- Must know how to drive.
- Physical fitness and strong upper-body strength for moving large carts of cardboard.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic cleaning and general warehouse cleaning.
- Bale cardboard and break down cardboard for recycling.
- Collect garbage bins from the warehouse floor, empty them, and return them.
- Drive a golf cart to collect trash after receiving training.
- Use a baler or other warehouse equipment as needed.
- Maintain the work area and keep equipment clean and orderly.
- Follow prescribed safety regulations and company, state, and federal policies.
- Clean restrooms, including restocking toilet tissue and other dispensers, emptying trash, sanitizing fixtures, cleaning mirrors, spot-cleaning partition doors and walls, sweeping and mopping tile floors, and cleaning toilets and urinals.
- Move and reposition furniture, vacuum, empty trash, and replace liners.
- Check all trash containers before moving them.
- Clean floors and other areas through dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, gum removal, dusting, picking up larger objects, and spot-cleaning glass.
- Attend to flooded areas, incidental spills, and related trash or restroom cleanup.
- Restock carts and closets at the end of each shift.
- Perform additional duties as required.
