About The Position

San Diego Elder Law Center, a highly respected boutique law firm, is seeking an experienced litigation attorney to join our team. Founded in 1997, we specialize in Estate Planning, Trust Administration, and Probate Law, with a distinct focus and reputation in Elder Law, Special Needs Law, and incapacity planning and related issues. We have a need for an Associate Attorney with litigation experience, preferably in the Trust and Estates or Elder Law fields. We currently refer litigated issues outside the firm, and wish to bring at least some of this in-house with the right candidate. Existing firm members can support a litigator with excellent and experienced case assessment and planning strategy. Requirements

  • A minimum of three years’ experience in contested matters.
  • Litigation experience in Trust and Estates or Elder Law fields is preferable.
  • Demonstrable experience in settlement and mediation as well as evidentiary proceedings.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • A client-focused mindset.
  • A friendly, intelligent, and professional demeanor.

Nice To Haves

  • Non-contested transactional experience in Estate Administration and Conservatorships is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Handle litigated issues in-house.
  • Provide excellent and experienced case assessment and planning strategy.
  • Engage in contested conservatorship proceedings.
  • Handle elder financial abuse and undue influence cases.
  • Manage will and trust contests and litigation.
  • Conduct settlement and mediation proceedings.
  • Perform evidentiary proceedings.
