About The Position

TCI Transportation is seeking a Dispatcher for an on-site, hands-on operations role in Tracy, California. The Dispatcher coordinates drivers, manages routes, supports safety compliance, and maintains customer satisfaction while making real-time decisions that affect operational performance and profitability. This is a fast-paced, high-visibility position involving regular interaction with drivers, leadership, customers, and internal teams. Priorities may shift quickly, and flexibility for occasional nights, weekends, or holidays is required. The role is scheduled Sunday through Thursday, 1:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with compensation of $26.00 per hour. The Dispatcher plans and schedules driver assignments, monitors routes and operational changes, supports driver training and performance, coordinates equipment and staffing needs, and helps ensure the company meets customer performance targets while balancing safety, cost control, and service quality. Requirements

Experience in dispatch, logistics, transportation, or operations is preferred.
Strong multitasking and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.

Understanding of DOT regulations and Hours of Service (HOS) is preferred.
Ability to lead, train, and support drivers.

Responsibilities

Plan, schedule, and dispatch drivers to ensure all loads are covered.
Monitor routes, schedules, and real-time changes to keep operations on track.
Coordinate with teams to optimize routes, equipment, and staffing.
Promote safety across operations and monitor and enforce DOT, Hours of Service (HOS), and federal and state regulations.
Audit driver logs and report discrepancies.
Train and support new and existing drivers on company policies and procedures.
Conduct driver meetings and provide ongoing guidance and performance feedback.
Ensure drivers are properly scheduled and ready for their shifts.
Partner with Maintenance, Recruiting, Rental, and Safety teams.
Coordinate equipment needs, repairs, and staffing requirements.
Serve as a key point of contact for drivers, customers, and internal teams.
Maintain customer relationships through daily communication.
Help ensure TCI meets or exceeds customer performance targets.
Balance safety, cost control, and service excellence in decisions.
