About The Position

Charger Logistics Inc. is seeking a motivated Truck & Trailer Technician for its Service Department at the Romulus location. The company is an asset-based carrier with locations across North America and more than 20 years of experience providing logistics solutions. The technician inspects, diagnoses, repairs, and maintains medium- and heavy-duty trucks and related equipment, with the goal of returning equipment to service efficiently and cost-effectively. Work must be completed according to Charger safety procedures.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of truck parts, equipment, and truck repairs.
• Effective problem-solving skills, including the ability to understand issues and find solutions in a timely manner.
• High attention to detail.
• Excellent time-management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.

Nice To Haves

• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of DOT/MTO rules and regulations is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Receive reports from drivers and owner-operators and conduct initial inspections to diagnose problems, using test drives, test instruments, and other equipment as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and repairs.
• Perform air and hydraulic brake repairs, warranty procedures, steering and suspension work, and electrical diagnostics on medium- and heavy-duty trucks.
• Clean, repair, recondition, and maintain equipment and components.
• Return equipment to service in the most efficient and cost-effective manner available.
• Perform all tasks according to Charger safety procedures.
