About The Position
The Truck Service Assistant General Manager provides vital support to the General Manager in leading the marketing and operations functions of the Truck Service department. The role helps lead technicians as they troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers professionally and accommodatingly, with the goal of returning travelers to the road better than they came. The assistant manager helps lead the team to meet company performance standards, improve department performance, and provide fast, friendly customer service. The position supports staff recruitment, hiring, training, retention, coaching, and performance management; promotes a trusting and respectful team culture; inspects product and service availability; and helps achieve financial objectives through effective management of people, products, services, and facility processes. The role also follows safety and operating standards and company guidance on vendor relationships.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with other managers.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
- Valid driver's license.
Nice To Haves
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree.
- Supervisory experience in a convenience store, truck service, travel center, or related business.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Truck Service business.
