About The Position

All Truck Drivers at American Crystal Sugar Co. load and unload trucks and drive to designated areas for the factory. The role includes ensuring assigned trucks are safe for highway traffic and maintaining trucks and loading and unloading areas in a clean, satisfactory manner. Drivers operate assigned mobile equipment and perform routine maintenance checks. They may also operate gasoline-, liquefied-gas-, or electric-powered industrial forklifts and factory pickup trucks, provided they meet all equipment safety requirements and training. The position may include routine preventive maintenance and record keeping for mobile equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED certificate.
• A Class D driver's license is required at the Hillsboro, North Dakota factory.
• Must pass a Safety Screen evaluating the ability to safely execute the position's duties and tasks.
• Ability to work and communicate well with others.
• Ability to reference, read, and understand how to use MSDS information.
• Ability to climb ladders or man lifts.
• Ability to transport up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Ability to communicate effectively and read and understand instructions, street signs, roadmaps, and general instructions to locate assigned destinations.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks.
• Drive trucks to designated areas for the factory.
• Check truck fluid levels and ensure lamps are clean and in working order.
• Ensure trucks are safe for highway traffic.
• Keep the truck and its loading and unloading area clean and satisfactory.
• Operate assigned mobile equipment and perform routine maintenance checks.
• Operate industrial forklifts and factory pickup trucks when assigned, after fulfilling applicable safety requirements and training.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and keep records for mobile equipment as needed.
