Truck Driver
About The Position
Truck Drivers at American Crystal Sugar Co. load and unload trucks and drive to designated areas for the factory. They check truck fluid levels, ensure lamps are clean and working, and make sure trucks are safe for highway traffic. They keep trucks and loading and unloading areas clean and satisfactory, and operate assigned mobile equipment while performing routine maintenance checks. The role may also involve operating gasoline-, liquefied-gas-, or electric-powered industrial forklifts and factory pickup trucks, after completing required safety training. Drivers may perform routine preventive maintenance and keep records for mobile equipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED certificate.
- A Class D driver's license is required at the Hillsboro, North Dakota factory.
- Pass a Safety Screen evaluating the ability to safely execute the position's duties and tasks.
- Ability to work and communicate well with others.
- Ability to reference, read, and understand how to use MSDS information.
- Ability to climb from ladders or man lifts and transport up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to communicate effectively and read and understand instructions, street signs, roadmaps, and general instructions to locate assigned destinations.

- Potentially operate industrial forklifts and factory pickup trucks powered by gasoline, liquefied gas, or electricity, after completing required safety training.
- Potentially perform routine preventive maintenance and record keeping for mobile equipment.
