About The Position
Ryder is hiring a NON CDL Truck Driver in Avondale, AZ — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. This position offers local routes with home daily, and the opportunity to drive a Stake Truck 26'. Ryder will provide training on equipment needed for success, including Moffett or Forklift if experience is not already possessed. The role involves touch freight, specifically electrical supplies, and requires loading and assisting with unloading. Requirements
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test
- Must have verifiable driving experience (must be in like equipment if position being applied for is operating a straight truck or box truck): 6 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
- Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
- Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
Nice To Haves
- Moffett or Forklift experience highly preferred
Responsibilities
- Safely driving a vehicle within and requires compliance with safety regulations, continuous training and customer service.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
- Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
- Maintaining accurate records
- Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
- Other tasks as assigned
