About The Position

Ryder is hiring a NON-CDL Truck Driver in Edgewood, NY — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. This position offers a competitive salary of $1140 or more per week, with paychecks issued weekly. The role involves approximately 40-50 hours per week, with paid training provided. The schedule is Monday through Friday, starting at 5:00 AM, with no weekend work. A retention bonus is offered, paying $500 after 30 days, $500 after 6 months, $500 after 1 year, and $500 after 18 months. Drivers will operate well-maintained, safe trucks, 36 months or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling available nationwide. Ryder emphasizes respect for drivers' talent and experience, with transparency regarding pay, routes, and schedules. Drivers deliver SOLO within a 250-mile radius of Edgewood, NY, including the 5 Boroughs, operating a 26' Box Truck equipped with a dolly and door cart. Freight involves touch freight, specifically windows and doors. Ryder also provides support for owner-operators transitioning to company trucks.

Requirements

Minimum 21 years of age
Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
Pass a Ryder Drug Test
Must have verifiable driving experience (must be in like equipment if position being applied for is operating a straight truck or box truck): 6 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
Pass a DOT physical
Pass a Ryder road test
Must have a valid driver’s license
Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
Candidates who possess a valid Commercial Drivers License will be subject to FMCSA requirements, including but not limited to, pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse query.

Responsibilities

Safely driving a vehicle within and requires compliance with safety regulations, continuous training and customer service.
Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
Maintaining accurate records
Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
Other tasks as assigned
