About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Non-CDL Truck Driver in Wilmington, IL — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. This position offers $980 or more per week, with hourly pay at $24.50 per hour for 40+ hours per week. The schedule is Wednesday from 11 am to 5 pm, and Thursday through Saturday from 5 am to 5 pm. Drivers will be responsible for yard jockey duties and some warehouse help, operating a day cab tractor with dry van trailers. Freight is drop and hook. Trucks are 36 months or newer and include 24/7 roadside maintenance. Ryder emphasizes transparency in pay, routes, and schedules.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Verifiable driving experience in "like" equipment: 9 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Yard Driver Examination
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Nice To Haves

• Fork lift exp is a plus
• Sit Down or Hand Truck Experience

Responsibilities

• Safely handling and maneuvering tractor trailers on the yard, but cannot drive on public roads
• Compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service
• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records and logs
• Maintaining accurate move and yard inventory records
• Other tasks as assigned
