About The Position

Ryder is hiring a NON-CDL Truck Driver in Syracuse, NY — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. This position offers a competitive weekly pay of $950-$1150, with pay calculated per mile and per stop. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with no weekends, and a start time between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM. Drivers will operate within an 80-mile radius of Syracuse, delivering auto parts that require touch freight. The trucks are box trucks (16', 22', & 26') equipped with a pallet jack, lift gate, and hand truck. Ryder provides training on all necessary equipment and operates well-maintained, safe trucks that are 36 months or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling support nationwide. Drivers are empowered to make safety decisions, and their jobs are protected. Ryder also offers a referral bonus program for hired drivers.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Must have verifiable driving experience (must be in like equipment if position being applied for is operating a straight truck or box truck): 6 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
• Candidates who possess a valid Commercial Drivers License will be subject to FMCSA requirements, including but not limited to, pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse query.

Responsibilities

• Safely driving a vehicle within and requires compliance with safety regulations, continuous training and customer service.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records
• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
• Other tasks as assigned
