About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Georgetown, Kentucky. This is a local, home-daily driving role delivering solo to Princeton, Indiana. Drivers operate a day-cab tractor pulling a 53-foot dry van with a swing door and transport no-touch auto-parts freight. Ryder provides training on the equipment needed for the role and operates trucks that are 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with some weekends. Start time is AM or PM based on route bid. Drivers earn a weekly guarantee of $1,305, are paid weekly, and may qualify for a shutdown bonus and quarterly safety bonuses. Paid training is provided. The role requires compliance with applicable laws and regulations, safe driving practices, accurate recordkeeping, and loading or unloading freight—or assisting with it—if required by the customer. Drivers may perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years old.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass Ryder background and motor vehicle checks, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
Some positions may require additional screening, which may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records checks and a road test, and/or customer badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
Detect, eliminate, or minimize safety hazards.
Maintain accurate records and logs.
Load or unload freight, or assist with loading or unloading, if required by the customer.
Perform other duties as assigned.
