About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Livermore, California. The position pays $30.00 per hour, with an average of 50 hours per week and weekly pay of $1,650 or more. Paid training is provided. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with a start time between 4:00 AM and 5:00 AM.

Drivers make solo deliveries on local routes in Northern California and return home daily. Equipment includes a day-cab tractor and a 48-foot flatbed trailer. Freight is metal, with load securement only. Ryder provides training on required equipment and describes its trucks as well-maintained, safe, and 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have verifiable Class A experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
• Some positions may require additional screening, which may include employment and education verification, a motor vehicle records check, a road test, and/or customer badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load or unload freight, or assist with loading or unloading when required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
