About The Position

Ryder is hiring a solo Class A CDL truck driver based in Columbus, Ohio. The position averages $1,950 per week, pays weekly, and includes a quarterly safety bonus and sign-on bonus. Drivers travel from North Dakota to Texas and throughout the eastern states, as well as Canada, hauling commercial and residential garage doors in dry van and Conestoga trailers. Freight may require strapping, and drivers assist with touch freight on dry van loads. Drivers are home every other week. Trucks are well-maintained and 36 months old or newer, with APUs, 24/7 roadside maintenance, and fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Paid training is provided. Drivers make safety decisions and are supported by Ryder throughout their careers.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test, background check, motor vehicle check, and DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the past 5 years, or 5 years within the past 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
Undergo any additional customer-specific screening that may be required, such as employment or education verification, motor vehicle records checks, road tests, badging, or background requirements.

Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading when required by the customer.
