About The Position

Ryder is hiring a solo Class A CDL truck driver in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The role pays weekly, with solo mileage pay of $0.70 per mile for 2,000–2,500 miles per week, plus stop and unload pay. Drivers average 8–10 stops per week and may earn $1,950 or more weekly. Additional compensation includes a quarterly safety bonus and a sign-on bonus paid in two installments. Paid training is provided. Drivers deliver to 48 states in sleeper tractors equipped with APUs, pulling dry van and Conestoga trailers. Freight consists of commercial and residential garage doors and requires hand unloading. Load securement is by strapping. A passport endorsement is required within 90 days of hire. Drivers may bring a person and/or pet on the road. Ryder states that its trucks are well-maintained, safe, and 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
Obtain a passport endorsement within 90 days of hire.
Hand unloading of freight is required.

Nice To Haves

Experience with dry van and Conestoga trailers is preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
