About The Position

Ryder is hiring a solo Class A CDL truck driver in Dalton, Ohio. The role delivers to 48 states using sleeper tractors with APUs and dry van and Conestoga trailers. Freight consists of commercial and residential garage doors and requires touch freight hand unloading and load securement with straps. Drivers average 2,000–2,500 miles per week and 8–10 stops per week. A passport is required within 90 days of hire. Ryder provides paid training, trucks that are 36 months old or newer, 24/7 roadside maintenance, and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Drivers have autonomy to make safety decisions and receive support during their career. A companion policy allows drivers to bring a person and/or pet on the road. Pay is weekly, advertised at $1,950 or more per week. Compensation includes $0.70 per mile, Conestoga stop pay of $28.20, van stop pay of $16.37, van unload pay of $107.56, and a quarterly safety bonus of $250. The sign-on bonus pays $1,500 at 30 days and another $1,500 at 90 days. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
Obtain a passport within 90 days of hire.
Secure loads using straps and perform hand unloading of touch freight.
