About The Position

Ryder is hiring a team Class A CDL Truck Driver based in Las Vegas, Nevada, for regional routes across the Southwest (California, Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico) and Mountain West (Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana). The role delivers touch freight consisting of retail hardware supplies. Drivers may earn $2,100 or more per week, with top earners making $2,800 or more. Pay is weekly and includes team mileage pay of $0.43 per mile, with 1,900 or more miles per week for each driver; team stop pay of $24 per stop, with 18 stops per week total; and $25 per hour for non-driving functions. Paid training is provided.

The schedule is Monday through Friday or Sunday through Thursday, with two days at home for reset. Drivers may work up to 60 or more hours per week. Dispatch begins within a 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. window. Equipment includes sleeper tractors, dry van and doubles trailers, and pallet jacks, forklifts, and hand trucks. Hazmat and doubles endorsements must be obtained within 30 days of hire. Ryder provides well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, 24/7 roadside maintenance, and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have verifiable Class A experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: nine months within the past three years, or two years within the last five years, or five years within the last ten years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
• Obtain Hazmat and doubles endorsements within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading if required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
