About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Byhalia, Mississippi. The position delivers freight solo across Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee, Indiana, and Missouri, with drivers home for resets. Drivers operate an assigned sleeper unit with a dry van and handle touch freight consisting of tires. The schedule’s start time varies based on hours-of-service requirements.

Pay is weekly, with a stated weekly guarantee of $1,657.64 and advertised earnings of $1,800 or more per week. The position also includes a $5,000 sign-on bonus, paid half at 30 days and half at 90 days, a $1,000 yearly bonus, and paid training. Over-the-road and high-touch freight experience is required.

Trucks are 36 months old or newer. Drivers have access to 24/7 roadside maintenance, and company drivers fuel at Ryder maintenance facilities nationwide. Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
• Have over-the-road and high-touch freight experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading if required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
