About The Position

Ryder is hiring team Class A CDL truck drivers in Las Vegas, Nevada, for regional routes across the Southwest (California, Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico) and Mountain West (Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana). Drivers operate sleeper tractors with dry van and doubles trailers, delivering touch freight consisting of retail hardware supplies. Ryder provides training on the equipment needed for the role. Drivers must obtain Hazmat and Doubles endorsements within 30 days of hire.

Drivers are paid weekly. The posting states team pay of $0.43 per mile, with 1,900 or more miles per week for each driver, and $24 per stop, with 18 stops per week total. Non-driving functions are paid at $25 per hour. Drivers work up to 60 or more hours per week, with a Monday–Friday or Sunday–Thursday schedule, a 3:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. dispatch window, and two days at home for reset. Ryder trucks are described as well-maintained, safe, and 36 months or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have verifiable Class A experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
• Obtain Hazmat and Doubles endorsements within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading if required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
