About The Position

Drive for NFI’s intermodal fleet on local routes with daily home time, transporting no-touch port container freight. The role offers steady freight, late-model equipment with advanced technology and safety features, paid port standby, and access to NFI’s privately owned chassis pool. NFI’s shops maintain an estimated 60% of its trucks and trailers.

The position pays weekly, with a stated range of $1,250–$1,350 per week, and includes a $2,500 sign-on bonus. Health, dental, vision, and prescription drug benefits begin on day one. Drivers must perform duties safely and responsibly, comply with applicable laws and customer requirements, and report equipment problems, accidents, traffic violations, and damage. Routes, pickups, and deliveries must be performed according to customer requirements.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Hold a current Class A CDL from the driver's state of residence.
• Hold a TWIC endorsement.
• Provide acceptable references from past employers.
• Meet all applicable DOT qualifications.
• Be physically capable of performing the job duties, including frequently moving, standing, walking, sitting, using hands, and reaching with hands and arms.
• Regularly lift or move up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs.

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of one year of port-ocean container drayage experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely and responsibly perform all job duties.
• Follow applicable federal and state laws and regulations, as well as customer rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Perform assigned routes, pickups, and deliveries according to customer requirements.
• Report equipment problems, accidents, traffic violations, and damage before, during, and after routes.
• Legally operate the motor vehicle and safely enter and exit the vehicle and rear cargo area.
