About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Team Driver based in San Antonio, Texas. Drivers deliver auto-parts freight on routes to Texas, Southern California, Indiana, and Kentucky, with home time weekly. Freight is no-touch, and the equipment includes an automatic Super Sleeper tractor and a 53-foot dry van trailer. Ryder provides training on required equipment and operates trucks that are 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations.

Drivers earn $1,750 or more per week, with a weekly guarantee of $1,750. The position also offers a $2,000 shutdown bonus within the first year and quarterly safety bonuses of $250. Training is paid. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage after 30 days; PTO accrual beginning on Day 1; uniforms and a boot allowance; a 401(k) rollover option and company match after one year; and 12 weeks of paid maternity leave subject to eligibility criteria. Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass Ryder background and motor vehicle checks, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have Class A verifiable tractor-trailer or comparable-vehicle experience meeting one of these thresholds: 9 months within the past 3 years, 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
• Be prepared for additional screening that may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records checks, a road test, and/or customer badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities

• Comply with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect, eliminate, or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading when required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
