About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL truck driver in Hazelwood, Missouri. This local driving position delivers medical supplies within an 80-mile radius, with the driver home daily. Drivers work solo and may operate a day cab tractor or sometimes a 26-foot straight truck, hauling dry van trailers of 48 or 53 feet. Freight is palletized in totes and requires touch freight. The role requires one year of box truck experience and use of a lift gate and pallet jack. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with start times between 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM. Drivers earn $31 per hour for 40 or more hours per week, with weekly pay and a sign-on bonus paid in two installments. Paid training is provided. Ryder says its trucks are well-maintained and 36 months old or newer, and provides 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Drivers are responsible for safe, compliant transportation and accurate records. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical and a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have verifiable Class A experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: at least 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Have one year of box truck experience.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
Maintain accurate records and logs.
Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading when required by the customer.
Perform other duties as assigned.
