About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Williamson, New York, for a home-daily shuttle and yard tractor role. The driver delivers solo between Williamson, Macedon, and North Chili, operating a day cab with 53-foot dry van trailers for shuttle and yard work and tankers for yard work. Freight consists of manufactured food products and is no-touch. Ryder provides paid training on the equipment needed for the role. The position cannot accommodate an automatic-transmission restriction. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 4:00 PM to 4:00 AM, with approximately 55 hours per week. Pay is $25.68 per hour, with an average weekly paycheck of $1,605. A $1,250 sign-on bonus is paid at 30 days and another $1,250 at 90 days. Trucks are described as well-maintained and 36 months or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test, background check, and motor vehicle check, including verification of drug and alcohol history from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have verifiable Class A tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle experience: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the past 5 years, or 5 years within the past 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
Be able to operate the equipment without an automatic-transmission restriction.

Responsibilities

Comply with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
Maintain accurate records and logs.
Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading when required by the customer.
Perform other duties as assigned.
