About The Position

Ryder is hiring a part-time Class A CDL truck driver in Leesport, Pennsylvania. The position pays $20.00 per hour, with weekly pay of $400 or more. This is a local, home-daily role with varying days, no weekends, and a start time between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. Additional hours and overtime are available. The driver shuttles equipment between Ryder customer facilities; the freight is no-touch empty trailers for equipment shuttle transfer movement.

Drivers operate well-maintained, safe trucks that are 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Drivers are responsible for making safety decisions and complying with safety and DOT regulations, ongoing training, and customer service expectations. Ryder provides uniforms and cell phone and boot allowances, as well as benefits and employee discounts. Some benefits are subject to eligibility criteria.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have verifiable Class A experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a commercial vehicle while complying with safety and DOT regulations.
• Complete ongoing training and provide customer service.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
