About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL truck driver based in Naugatuck, Connecticut, for solo regional deliveries to Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Long Island, including all five boroughs. The position uses a day-cab tractor and hauls steel on 45–48-foot flatbed trailers and 28-foot straight trucks, with load securement and tarping. Drivers operate Ryder trucks that are described as well-maintained, safe, and 36 months or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with no weekends, and dispatch begins between 4:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. Routes involve 1,000–1,200 solo miles and approximately 30 stops per week, with one to two overnight stays per week in hotels booked by Ryder. Rental cars are provided and/or mileage is paid for use of a personal vehicle over 30 miles. Paid training is provided. The posting advertises earnings of $1,600 or more per week, with weekly pay. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
