Truancy Elimination Case Worker
About The Position
The Truancy Elimination Case Worker works with children, youth, and families in conjunction with Juniata County Children & Youth Services and area school districts. The role coordinates and facilitates meetings involving the student, family, service providers, and school district to develop a Truancy Elimination Plan that addresses the student’s attendance needs and supports the family’s participation in developing and implementing the plan. The case worker completes required documentation, including case notes, in compliance with regulations and company standards, and must be prepared to provide court testimony professionally when needed and scheduled.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; or a bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field with at least 12 credits in a human-service-related course; or an associate degree in a related field with an additional three years of experience working or training with children and families.
- Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license with a good driving record.
Responsibilities
- Work with children, youth, and families in conjunction with Juniata County Children & Youth Services and area school districts.
- Coordinate and facilitate meetings between the student, family, service providers, and school district to develop a Truancy Elimination Plan.
- Address student attendance needs and support the family’s active participation in developing and implementing the plan.
- Prepare and complete required documentation, including case notes, in compliance with regulations and company standards.
- Provide professional court testimony when needed and scheduled.
