About The Position

Trim Die Assistant sets up and operates the trim, drill, and arm-drill presses, CNC water jet and conventional machines. This role involves performing setups for various machines, verifying correct setup for production, operating the machines, cleaning dies, and maintaining accurate part counts. The position also requires ensuring quality and production requirements are met, participating in quality improvement projects, and adhering to LEAN manufacturing and SPC activities. Employees are expected to follow APP's policies and procedures, including those related to product safety, employee safety, and ethics, as well as all process specifications. The role supports plant quality and productivity goals and may involve performing other duties as instructed by leadership.

Requirements

  • English (reading, writing, verbal and comprehension).
  • Understand written and verbal instructions.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in basic mathematics.
  • Recognize any mechanical dysfunctions or risks and notify a supervisor.

  • In compliance with ITAR regulations, must be a US Citizen or US Person (U.S. Person = a natural person who is a lawful permanent resident as defined in 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20) or who is a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).

Responsibilities

  • Perform the set-ups for the trim, drill and arm-drill presses, CNC water jet and conventional machines including any changes or adjustments to bolts, clamps, or assembly at the beginning of each production run.
  • Verify the presses are set-up correctly for production at the beginning of each shift.
  • Operate the trim, drill, and arm-drill presses, CNC water jet and conventional machines.
  • Clean dies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate part and /or work piece counts.
  • Assure quality and production requirements are met, as per the job-specific travelers.
  • Participate in total quality management projects to achieve continuous improvement.
  • Participate in LEAN manufacturing and SPC activities as required.
  • Ensure adherence to APP’s policies and procedures, including our code of conduct and ethics policy, product safety, employee safety and cultural beliefs.
  • Ensure adherence to all process specifications.
  • Support the Plant quality system goals / improvements & productivity goals / improvements within the scope of the job.
  • Perform any other duties not mentioned above when instructed to do so by the APP leadership.
