About The Position

As a Tool Maker, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing operations by taking on more complex CNC tasks and programming parts independently. This position is designed for individuals with experience in CNC machining who are ready to apply their skills in CAM programming and advanced machining processes. A Day In The Life: Assist the BA site leader in CAM programming and CNC Technology. Train manual machinists in CNC programming and tool creation, sharing knowledge and best practices in CNC machining. Cross train on the manual lathe and milling machines as needed. Independently program simple to intermediate 2D and 2.5D parts using CAM software such as Fusion 360, Mastercam, SolidWorks CAM, and SolidCAM. Set up complex machining jobs, including multi-axis setups with fixtures and jigs. Troubleshoot and resolve machining errors, including issues related to chatter, tool wear, or incorrect dimensions to support operations as needed. Design tooling and fixtures to improve machining efficiency. Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to enhance machining processes and outcomes. Collaborate with engineering to create and refine part designs for manufacturability. Support execution of engineering projects and process improvement projects. Ensure CNC equipment is in safe operating condition. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties. Must exhibit quality workmanship that adheres to engineering specifications.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in CAM programming and CNC machining with a proven track record of success in previous roles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certification or degree in machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field is preferred.
