About The Position
The Triage RN supports patient care in an outpatient primary care practice at 40 Turkey Hill Road, Belchertown, Massachusetts. The practice provides adult physical examinations, routine health screenings, preventive care, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses, and services promoting general health and well-being. The position is predominantly focused on phone triage, with some nurse visits, and involves compassionate care, assistance with procedures, and collaboration in an ambulatory care environment. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week role, scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The position is onsite; after successful completion of training, it may become hybrid based on performance. The role requires an associate degree in nursing and an active state Registered Nurse license. A bachelor's degree in nursing and BLS certification are preferred.
Requirements
- Associate degree in nursing.
- Registered Nurse state license.
- Clinical nursing experience of 0–1 year required.
- A degree is required; experience cannot be substituted for a degree.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from a recognized issuer.
- Ambulatory care or outpatient experience of 1–2 years.
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care and support in accordance with high nursing standards.
- Conduct patient assessments, develop care plans, and assist with outpatient procedures while prioritizing patient comfort and safety.
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, and post-procedure care.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Administer medications, perform IV therapy, and maintain accurate patient records in compliance with regulations.
- Follow infection-control protocols and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Provide predominantly telephone-based triage and conduct nurse visits.
