This position will assist the Triage Unit in providing ancillary support for Triage Unit functions. The responsibilities of the Triage Unit Medical Assistant will include scheduling patients’ post emergency room and hospital discharge follow-ups, sorting faxes assigned to the Triage Unit, answering phone calls that come into the Triage Unit phone line, checking the Patient Portal, and interacting with Triage Unit staff and other healthcare providers to assure continuity and quality of patient care services. The Triage Unit Medical Assistant is held accountable clinically to clinicians while they are held accountable administratively to the Triage Unit RN Supervisor and Triage RNs. APHCV expects all employees to respond and participate in emergency situations per emergency policies and procedures. APHCV requires all staff to comply with Standards of Conduct and Compliance Program related policies and procedures. Such compliance is part of this position’s performance evaluation.
