Experienced Tree Climber
About The Position
Joshua Tree Experts is seeking an experienced Tree Climber to join its tree care team in Houston. The Tree Climber works alongside a crew of two to four people and assists with tree removal, pruning, and general tree preservation. This is an important crew role responsible for safe tree operations, maintaining assigned equipment, and communicating effectively with crew members, clients, and the public near job sites. The position requires availability to work at least 40 hours per week and understanding of aerial lift operations and ANSI standards for Tree Care Operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least four years of tree-climbing experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Availability to work at least 40 hours per week.
- Understanding of aerial lift operations.
Nice To Haves
- Forestry or horticulture degree.
- ISA Certified Arborist.
Responsibilities
- Assist with tree removal, tree pruning, and general tree preservation techniques.
- Ensure safe tree operations and follow the company’s safety culture.
- Communicate effectively with the crew leader and coworkers.
- Communicate with clients and the public near the job site.
- Maintain a professional image and provide excellent customer service.
- Delegate work to the Groundman Operations Specialist.
- Maintain the vehicle and assigned equipment.
- Understand and follow ANSI standards for Tree Care Operations.
