About The Position

Responsible for the tray setup for patients/residents in a timely and sanitary manner, which includes work station setup, assembly, and delivery/retrieving of patients’/residents’ trays. Cold food items will be prepared in accordance with diets. Cleans the work station, equipment, dishes, and flatware. Receives supervision from higher level management.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • One year of experience in serving establishment
  • Knowledge of principles of sanitation including health and safety practices and cleaning methods
  • Maintain strictest confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics
  • Knowledge of institutional kitchens, utensils, and equipment and ability to operate
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written

Responsibilities

  • Set up work station to facilitate efficient meal service
  • Assemble all food trays in accordance to diet order
  • Highlight critical information on card (i.e. allergies, dislikes, etc.)
  • Deliver/retrieve trays at designated times
  • Prepare and deliver between-meal nourishments to hospital units according to specification
  • Prepare salads, desserts, and all beverages for meals
  • Cleans the work station, equipment, dishes, and flatware.
