About The Position

Plunkett's is seeking a Traveling Service Technician who will travel between branches, learn new skills quickly, and gain broad exposure to the pest control business. This role is designed as a fast track into a pest control career, with the travel area limited to the state of Iowa. The position offers a dynamic work environment with new challenges and locations regularly, providing opportunities for professional growth and skill development.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license with a clean record
Willingness to travel, including overnight trips about 30% of the time
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Comfortable walking, bending, kneeling, crawling, and climbing ladders to reach attics and crawlspaces
Ability to work outside in all kinds of weather and around dust, chemicals, and bugs
Ability to sit and drive for long stretches while on the road
Comfort using a tablet or phone app to get things done

Responsibilities

Jump into open routes across branches and keep customers happy with great service
Back up other technicians when things get busy or someone's out
Travel between branches, including overnight trips about 30% of the time (hotel and travel covered) and daily drives of roughly 100-200 miles
Learn to identify pests and treat homes and businesses the right way
Work toward your state pest control license and certifications
Log your work using a company tablet
Bring your A-game to every customer interaction
Keep your company truck and gear in top shape
