About The Position

The Traveling Retail Cleaning Technician (Floater) supports multiple retail store locations throughout Ohio, providing coverage for vacations, call-offs, leaves of absence, and other staffing needs. The role performs floor maintenance on hard surfaces and carpet, including waxing, buffing, spot cleaning, extraction, and deep cleaning restrooms and grout, as well as other janitorial and detail work. The technician works onsite under limited supervision and collaborates with Building Maintenance team members while interacting respectfully with customers, store personnel, and the public. Reliable transportation is required. The schedule is flexible according to store coverage needs, with hours and locations varying weekly; work may include nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays. Travel throughout Ohio is required. Travel time exceeding 30 minutes is paid, and mileage for travel exceeding 25 miles is reimbursed. The position pays $18.00 per hour, with weekly pay on Friday. Requirements

High school graduate or GED recipient.
At least 18 years of age.
Reliable transportation; a clean motor vehicle record is required if driving, as a condition of continued employment.

Responsibilities

Cover multiple locations within the designated district.
Refer to each location’s daily task list to ensure work is completed in accordance with customer requirements and expectations.
Perform assignments according to the company schedule and client expectations.
Perform general tasks as directed by the supervisor.
Maintain hard floors through sweeping, dry and damp mopping, scrubbing, buffing, and spot cleaning.
Maintain carpets through vacuuming, shampooing, bonneting, extraction, and spot cleaning.
Perform other cleaning and detail work, including waxing, dusting, restroom cleaning, trash removal, window cleaning, and cleaning deli, bakery, restaurant or café, office, and other offstage areas included in the scope of work.
Report to work as scheduled and on time, and accurately record time worked using phone timekeeping systems.
Maintain reliable transportation to arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
Follow the schedule to prevent budget overages.
Address cleaning or scope concerns with the onsite store manager when needed or directed.
Collaborate with Carlson staff onsite to complete the customer’s daily scope of work.
Operate floor-care machines and cleaning products safely and according to manufacturer instructions.
Keep storage areas organized and supplied, and request needed products through the supervisor.
Follow safety requirements, procedures, and company policies, including the anti-harassment policy.
Interact respectfully with customers and personnel.
Check that equipment is working and required materials are available, including safety signs, tape, and cones; promptly report equipment problems or shortages to the supervisor.
Follow instructions for specific cleaning projects assigned each shift.
Report work-related injuries to the supervisor on the date they occur; immediately report falls or other injuries involving store customers or personnel to the supervisor and onsite store manager.
Immediately report store damage to the supervisor and clean it up as needed.
After training on floor waxing and products, the Lead Technician assumes sole responsibility for applying wax.
Guide less-experienced Floor Care Technicians on floor-care and cleaning procedures as needed.
Periodically assist with other duties, including floor stripping.
Identify and implement improvements to increase service productivity and efficiency.
Enforce Sizemore policies and procedures as needed.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
