Traveling Food Service Worker Substitutes
About The Position
We are seeking dependable and flexible Traveling Substitute Food Service Workers to support the school food service program at various locations. This is an on-call position with work available as needed. Candidates must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel. The schedule is day shift, Monday through Friday, approximately 3–6 hours per day when scheduled. There are no weekends or holidays, summers are off, and work is on an as-needed basis. Requirements
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel.
- Flexible availability and willingness to work at different school locations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to obtain required documentation and clearances to work in a school setting.
Nice To Haves
- Previous food service experience is a plus but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation and meal assembly.
- Serve meals to students in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and perform cashier duties.
- Stock, organize, and rotate food and supplies.
- Wash dishes and maintain clean kitchen, serving, and dining areas.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Assist with other cafeteria duties as needed.
