About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Sonographer / Ultrasound Tech specializing in Ultrasound in Arcata, California. The contract is for 13 weeks and starts on 08/24/2026. The role is based in a hospital setting and operates on a 5x8 Days shift (Monday–Friday, 8-hour days) with some shared call. The weekly pay ranges from $2,759 to $2,980.

Requirements

• ARDMS certification required
• BLS certification required
• Echo experience required
• Proof of negative TB test within 12 months prior to contract start
• Ability to work in a hospital setting
• Ultrasound experience including echocardiography and general imaging

Nice To Haves

• ECHO certification may be preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including echocardiography, with attention to image quality and patient safety
• Prepare patients, explain procedures, obtain relevant clinical history, and ensure comfort
• Operate ultrasound equipment, adjust settings, and apply Doppler as indicated to obtain diagnostic quality images
• Capture, label, and transmit studies to interpreting physicians; document findings in the patient record
• Maintain infection control practices, comply with safety standards, and perform routine equipment quality checks
• Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, and other team members; manage patient flow and participate in on-call coverage as assigned
