About The Position

Sage Group HealthCare Staffing is seeking Operating Room RN for a travel/contract positions in Lawton, OK. We are accepting both local and traveler candidates. This is a full-time, travel, contract, temporary position with a contract length of 13 weeks. The position guarantees 40 hours per week, consisting of 5 x 8-hour shifts. The available shifts are afternoons, from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm. No weekends or call are required.

Requirements

Recent/Current Operating Room RN experience: 2 years - Required
RN License for state applying or compact if permitted in the state - Required
AHA BLS Certifications - Required
AHA ACLS - Required
NIHSS - Required (Can obtain upon offer)

Nice To Haves

CVOR experience - Highly preferred

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for surgery by verifying medical history, allergies, and surgical consents, and explaining procedures to alleviate patient anxiety.
Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room by adhering to infection control protocols and assisting with the proper sterilization of instruments and equipment.
Assist the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments, handling supplies, and monitoring patients' vital signs and overall condition.
Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth workflow and patient safety throughout surgical procedures.
Monitor patients post-operatively, assess recovery progress, and provide necessary information and emotional support to patients and families regarding expected outcomes and aftercare instructions.
Document all aspects of patient care accurately, including observations, actions taken, and responses to interventions during the perioperative period.
Respond promptly to emergencies and unexpected situations in the operating room, demonstrating critical thinking and the ability to act quickly under pressure.
