About The Position

FirstChoice is Trinity Health’s mobile staffing solution, providing short- and long-term nursing assignments across the health system. This role is for an Emergency Department RN at MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center in Iowa. The assignment is 13 weeks, with a stated schedule of three 12-hour night shifts per week. Nationwide and regional opportunities are available, and nurses may work across hospital departments, locations, or regions. FirstChoice offers varied practice settings and flexible scheduling.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Hold valid RN licensure authorized in the applicable state(s) of practice or employment.
Have at least two years of recent clinical experience for Emergency Department and other listed specialties outside Med Surg, Tele, and PCU.
Obtain and maintain credentials required for the specialty area, such as ACLS or TNCC.
Obtain BLS, ACLS, and PALS through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

Float throughout the hospital and/or across multiple hospital locations or regions.
Apply the standard elements of professional nursing practice: assess, identify outcomes and solutions, plan, implement, and evaluate.
Practice independently and appropriately within licensure, scope of knowledge, and experience.
Remain accountable for delegation, choices, decisions, and outcomes.
Collaborate with key stakeholders and contribute to quality improvement practices and outcomes.
Demonstrate agility and willingness to take on new and additional responsibilities.
Embrace new ideas and cultural differences while managing competing priorities.
