About The Position

Sentara Princess Anne Hospital, located in Virginia Beach, Virginia, is hiring a Temporary Full Time Travel RN in our PCU/Stepdown Unit. This is a 14-week assignment for the NIGHT Shift. The patient population on this 24-bed unit is step-down patients in need of intermediate care. This progressive care unit provides nursing care for patients who are too ill for the general medical/surgical units, but do not need an intensive level of care in the ICU. The population includes general medicine, surgical, chronic vents (4 beds), and bypass patients. The unit is a Stroke Certified unit.

Requirements

Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in the Nursing Field required
Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
Basic Life Support (BLS)
ACLS
NIH stroke scale
Two or more years of current acute care hospital experience.

Responsibilities

Provide nursing care for patients in a PCU/Stepdown Intermediate Care unit.
Care for patients who are too ill for general medical/surgical units but do not require ICU level care.
Manage patients including general medicine, surgical, chronic vents, and bypass patients.
Provide care on a Stroke Certified unit.
