About The Position

Sentara Leigh Hospital is hiring a Travel Registered Nurse (RN) for their Intermediate Care Unit (Stepdown) 4 East. This is a temporary, full-time, 14-week assignment for the night shift. The Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) is designed for patients who are too ill for general medical/surgical care but do not require an intensive level of care. Patients on this unit require continuous monitoring and advanced nursing interventions, including ventilator management, tracheostomy care, telemetry monitoring, heparin infusions, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and post-operative cardiac and vascular patient care.

Requirements

• Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in the Nursing Field required.
• Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• ACLS certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification.
• Two or more years of current acute care hospital RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous monitoring and advanced nursing interventions for patients in the Intermediate Care Unit (Stepdown).
• Manage patients requiring ventilator support, tracheostomy care, and telemetry monitoring.
• Administer heparin infusions and manage BiPAP/CPAP and high flow nasal cannula.
• Provide care for post-operative cardiac and vascular patients.
