About The Position

Sentara Leigh Hospital is hiring a Travel Registered Nurse (RN) for our Intermediate Care Unit (Stepdown) 4 East. This is a temporary full-time, 14-week assignment for the night shift. The Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) is a 24-bed unit designed for patients who are too ill for general medical/surgical care but do not require intensive care. Patients on this unit need continuous monitoring and advanced nursing interventions, including ventilator management, tracheostomy care, telemetry monitoring, heparin infusions, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and post-operative cardiac and vascular patient care.

Requirements

Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in the Nursing Field required
Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
Basic Life Support (BLS)
ACLS
NIH Stroke Scale
Two or more years of current acute care hospital RN experience

Responsibilities

Ventilator management
Tracheostomy care
Telemetry monitoring
Heparin infusions
BiPAP/CPAP
High flow nasal cannula
Post-operative cardiac and vascular patient care
Continuous monitoring of patients
Providing advanced nursing interventions
