About The Position

Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia, is hiring an experienced Travel Registered Nurse for its Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU). This is a temporary, full-time, 14-week assignment on the night shift, with a stated pay rate of $75.00 per hour and no benefits for the assignment.

The CICU is a 10-bed unit on the second floor of Sentara Heart Hospital. Its patient population includes nonsurgical cardiac patients and patients with pulmonary hypertension, heart attacks, heart failure, and sepsis. The unit also serves as the Medical Response Team (MRT) for the Heart Hospital.

Requirements

• An associate degree, bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or diploma in nursing.
• A Virginia or Compact multistate license in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification.
• At least 2 years of recent acute-care ICU hospital RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.
• Care for the unit’s patient population, including nonsurgical cardiac patients and patients with pulmonary hypertension, heart attacks, heart failure, and sepsis.
• Serve as part of the unit that acts as the Medical Response Team for Sentara Heart Hospital.
