About The Position

Registered Nurse (OR) travel assignment in Kodiak, Alaska, United States. Perioperative care in an operating room unit within an acute care setting. This role involves on-call weekend coverage and relies on Epic for charting. Housing is provided.

Requirements

• Active RN license in hand for a compact state at submission (pending licenses not accepted)
• ACLS and BLS certifications
• Minimum 1 year RN experience; perioperative/OR experience strongly preferred; first-time travelers accepted
• Ability to work in an OR/perioperative environment; on-call on weekends required
• Local radius rule: candidate permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the assignment site
• RN degree from an accredited nursing program (typical minimum)
• COVID-19 vaccine not required; flu vaccine status as specified by facility

Responsibilities

• Deliver perioperative nursing care in the OR, including circulating and/or Scrub roles as appropriate for the procedure
• Assist with a range of cases (laparoscopic and open abdominal, orthopedics/spine, thoracic, urology) and manage blood product administration
• Maintain sterile technique, adherence to universal protocol (time-out), and wound care throughout perioperative phases
• Prepare patients pre-operatively and support recovery in PACU as needed
• Document in the electronic health record (Epic) and communicate effectively with the surgical team and anesthesia
• Participate in maintaining patient safety, quality standards, and room turnover efficiency
