About The Position

This is a 13-week travel assignment for an Oncology Registered Nurse in Ukiah, California. The role is in a short-term acute care hospital setting, requiring 40 guaranteed hours per week with a rotating 4x10-hour day shift schedule. The position involves providing direct oncology nursing care, administering medications, monitoring patients, documenting care, and preparing patients for procedures. The nurse will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and ensure a safe, healing environment.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in California required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR from an approved vendor required.
• Oncology-specific certification (ONS) and ONC/ONCC-CHIM certification required.
• 2–3 years of oncology nursing experience required.
• EPIC EMR experience required.
• Ability to work in an inpatient oncology unit.
• Current specialty certifications and eligibility aligned with the department’s needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct oncology nursing care to inpatients in a hospital setting, collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate treatment plans.
• Administer prescribed medications and therapies, monitor patient responses, and manage potential side effects in accordance with protocol.
• Gather and interpret patient data, update plans of care, and evaluate progress toward expected outcomes.
• Document care in the electronic medical record system and participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
• Prepare patients, rooms, and equipment for procedures; assist physicians with procedures as assigned; provide patient and family education.
• Support a safe, healing environment, delegating tasks as appropriate and maintaining compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.
