About The Position
Registered Nurse – Hospice in Grand Junction, Colorado, United States. Travel - temporary assignment starting 09/08/2026 for 12 weeks. This assignment occurs in an in-patient hospice setting that provides comprehensive end-of-life care in a home-like environment. Orientation: 3 days (8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.) before the first night shift.
Requirements
- Current, active Colorado RN license
- Hospice or palliative care experience preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
- Excellent communication with patients, families, and the care team
- Ability to work in an inpatient hospice setting with rotating night shifts
- Completion of orientation prior to the first night shift (3 days, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.)
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care focused on symptom management, comfort, and quality of life for hospice patients.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, monitor changes, and adjust care plans in collaboration with the care team.
- Communicate clearly with patients, families, and interdisciplinary colleagues about goals of care and treatment options.
- Educate patients and caregivers on symptoms, medications, safety, and end-of-life planning.
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in medical records accurately and timely.
- Support emotional, social, and spiritual needs of patients and families; facilitate family involvement in care decisions.
