About The Position

Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia is hiring a Travel Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Surgical Stepdown Unit (4HH). This unit provides high acuity cardiac care for pre and post cardiac surgery patients, including bypass surgery, cardiac valve repairs/replacements, thoracic surgery/lung diagnostics, and other cardiac-based procedures and treatments. The unit is dedicated to high quality care, patient outcomes, safety, and teamwork. Nurses on this unit typically manage 4 patients based on acuity level.

Requirements

Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in the Nursing Field required
Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
Basic Life Support (BLS)
ACLS
NIH Stroke Scale
2 or more years of recent acute care hospital RN experience

Responsibilities

Provide high acuity cardiac care for pre and post cardiac surgery patients.
Care for patients undergoing bypass surgery, cardiac valve repairs/replacements, and thoracic surgery/lung diagnostics.
Manage up to 4 patients based on acuity level.
