Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality psychiatric inpatient and outpatient nursing care to adults and/or adolescents, including triage, monitoring, medication administration, and safety assessment.
• Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments, document findings, and contribute to individualized care plans in collaboration with psychiatrists, social workers, therapists, and case managers.
• Implement de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention as needed, using evidence-based approaches to promote patient stabilization and recovery.
• Administer prescribed medications, manage side effects, and monitor responses, ensuring accurate charting and regulatory compliance.
• Deliver patient and family education about diagnosis, treatment options, medication adherence, and discharge planning to empower ongoing wellness.
• Collaborate within interdisciplinary teams to coordinate transitions of care, coordinate referrals, and support continuity of care across settings.
• Engage in ongoing professional development, including pursuing relevant certifications and skill-building opportunities within psych nursing, with a focus on patient safety and quality outcomes.
