About The Position
The YMCA of the North Shore is seeking enthusiastic coaches to lead our in-house Travel Basketball League for 3rd to 8th graders. In this role, you’ll teach fundamental skills, help players deepen their understanding of the game, and foster a positive, competitive environment. As a coach, you’ll not only guide your team on the court but also serve as a mentor—fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
Requirements
- Availability to coach at least one night per week and on Saturdays.
- Experience working with school-age youth in sports, recreation, or structured programs.
- Excellent communication skills with players, parents, and staff.
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to support the unique needs of all participants.
- Previous coaching experience preferred.
- Availability at least 1 evening per week to coach at the Cape Ann YMCA.
- Personable demeanor and ability to effectively communicate with children and adults.
- Reliable transportation required for league travel on the North Shore.
