About The Position

The YMCA of the North Shore is looking for a Classroom Educator who will bring energy, creativity, and compassion to our Early Learning Programs! This role involves creating a safe, inclusive, and fun environment where every child feels supported and encouraged. The educator will develop and lead age-appropriate, engaging lesson plans that spark curiosity and growth, build strong, positive relationships with children, families, and fellow educators, and embrace and celebrate diverse abilities and learning styles. The position also requires keeping the classroom organized, safe, and full of enriching materials, communicating openly with families about daily updates and developmental milestones, and mentoring colleagues while growing professional skills.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Meet Teacher qualifications as determined by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC).
  • A solid understanding of children’s growth and development—and the creativity to turn this knowledge into engaging, age-appropriate activities!
  • Complete EEC fingerprinting prior to your first day.
  • Keep all required documents and certifications current in your educator file.
  • Complete all trainings, certifications, and program orientation following EEC and YMCA of the North Shore guidelines.
  • Maintain current Infant/Child CPR & First Aid certification.
