About The Position

The Program in Trauma at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is currently recruiting a full-time surgery faculty member at UM Capital Region Health (UMCRH) Medical Center located in Largo, Maryland. Clinical responsibilities include trauma, emergency general surgery and surgical critical care. Resident/student education and research are also core components of the position. The trauma center is the 2nd busiest in the state of Maryland, with a good mix of penetrating and blunt mechanisms of injury. This position includes an academic appointment with the University of Maryland School of Medicine; rank will be commensurate with experience and training. A competitive salary is being offered, and the position is currently available.

Requirements

  • Board certification/eligibility by the American Board of Surgery with added qualifications in Surgical Critical Care
  • Fellowship training in trauma/surgical critical care
  • Related work experience
  • Demonstrated commitment toward research
